As a new student in our program, you will take a placement examination on the first day of classes. Based on the results of the examination, you will be put in one of four levels of classes: high beginning, intermediate, high intermediate, and advanced. Also, depending upon your scores on various sections of the test, you may be placed at a higher or lower level in one or more skills areas.
For example, if you place into level 4, but have a lower level writing score on the examination, you might be placed in level 3 for writing, but in level 4 for other classes.
In addition, during the first ten days of classes, your teachers will watch you closely. If your performance in a particular class is much higher than that of your classmates, your teacher may decide to move you to a higher level of that class.
